Extremely tight and hot

Worst sitka purchase ever and I own ALOT. The fixed tongue design is terrible. Thought they would loosen up once you have them on, but they don't. Wore them one time dove hunting and ended up taking them off. Was cutting off circulation, caused blisters on ankles and top of foot. And for some reason they are extremely HOT. My feet were on fire. Waste of money and can't return.

Sitka review

Snug at first but after the first hunt they loosened up and formed well to the feet. Light weight, good quality, and comfortable. Great shoe for hiking and during summer and fall. Wouldn’t use for cold weather days.

Cut off circulation

Shoes severely digging into arches and cutting off circulation. Gave them to Goodwill.

Not impressed.

“Axis-Fit” is very tight mid-foot and uncomfortable. Rigid fit. I thought I could break them in but no luck. I’d say this “Axis-Fit” is a bad thing. They also stink and don’t seem to breath. I have the Gore Tex pair, and even though I’ve worn socks with them every time they stink more than my running shoes with a lot of mileage on them.

Picked up the earth color and love em! They fit great and feel good when running. Could do without the huge goretex being written on the insides of the shoe though. Will try and color match the letters out, but that’s just me. Love the shoe though.

The shoe is awesome just be mindful that it is a Narrow snug shoe if you have a wider foot.

Absolutely amazing shoe. Supportive, comfortable, light weight, and the grip is unmatched. Couldn’t recommend enough.

They are an attractive and

They are an attractive and light weight shoe. I didn’t feel they provided the amount of support my surgically repaired ankles require. Sitka made it easy to return them.

These shoes are nice but i think they are definitely overpriced for what they are. Bit stiff at first, require some break in.

First Impressions - Very Good

I bought these and immediately went on a 5 mile backpacking trip for a one night camp and then hiked 5 miles back. Shoes were great and very comfortably. My one shoe caused a decent blister on my heel but thats to be expected with brand new hiking shoes. They had great grip and held up well with slippery conditions in the rain. I would recommend. Might update my review as I continue to use them. I hope they are able to hold up for hundreds of miles. I had to size .5 down

Can’t Recommend Enough

I commented a couple times on these, last comments. After many many miles in and out of canyons the shoe are now flexible as any shoe so not to worry about being stiff. I will go up a half size on next pair. Toes contact front of shoe on steep descents regardless of lace methods the sharp rocks and ledges in steep canyons of Phoenix mountain preserve you do feel these rocks and sole of feet become tender. I want a shoe with good feel of terrain surface so this is a trade off. My heavy thick soled hunting boots prevent this, but feel fatigue is the trade off there. I take both shoes depending on the country I hunt in the US, determines which pair I place up on a trip. My trip to hunt coyote in Wyoming I will start with the accent goretex and mostly stay with them. No shoe can be all but these cover all but one surface for me. Can’t recommend them enough. Ascent Gortex - great purchase

I have only had the Ascent Gortex for a month and have only worn casually so far but this is a great feeling shoe - super comfortable. I own a pair of a comparable competitor shoe which I really liked but this Sitka Ascent w/Gortex feels even better. I am considering buying a second pair.

Best shoes

I have had a lot of on clouds not knocking them they are great shoes. That being said they really lack on the waterproof side. These are the best waterproof shoes I have ever had. Just got back from a 3 day trip in Florida and it rained every day. I will say this it did take a little while to break in. I wear ankle socks and they rubbed bad for a few days so If you buy them wear taller socks for a few days. I am going to get a standard shoes now for sure

Great so far

Nice shoe, great ankle lock, but kinda hard to get on with sewn tongue. I’d say they run a little big.

Great comfort and fit, definitely the shoe I needed for long sits in the stand.

I really wanted to like

I really wanted to like these shoes, but I couldn't get them on my feet. The tongue is not gusseted, instead sewn directly to the uppers, so there is not enough room to slide your foot in even with the shoe completely unlaced. I measured the soles against my other size 13 shoes and going to a 14, if available, would have been too large and probably wouldn't have solved the problem. Sitka was great about the return and refund.

Great Shoe

It's lightweight but still feels very well made and will last a good while. I've only worn it on a few hunts but both required me to walk through small amounts of water. The sides completely kept everything out but the top did let a very small amount of water in. Can't expect a sneaker style shoe to be 100% water proof though. After these are broken in I can see them being a go to for me for early season. I've been waiting for something like this.

Nice shoes

These are in my opinion similar to trail running shoes. They are lightweight and waterproof. The size is accurate. The lugs are not as deep as I was expecting. The break in quickly and are comfortable.

Just awful they are the

Just awful they are the most painful shoe I’ve ever worn. I spent a week out west hiking with them last week it’s been one week since I’ve worn them and I still have nerve pain in my left foot that runs from my ankle to my 3rd and 4th toe. They are so tight on the middle laces no matter how much you loosen them. Huge oversight not offering wide option.

Good Shoe

This shoe is difficult to get into as it is very stiff particularly around the heel. Once on, it is comfortable and I am hoping some of the stiffness comes out as I wear it more.

ASENT Gore Tex

Shoe was true to size. No break in requied out of the box right to the dirt and mud. Feet stayed try, traction and stability were great!!

Once I got them broke in after a day on the golf course they’ve turned into my favorite everyday shoe.

Good quality built shoe that is built to withstand tough enviroments. These have quickly become my everyday work shoe, and they feel sturdy and comfortable. Im loving every second of them!

Ascent Shoe Review

The only issue I have with these shoes so far is the pinching at the base of my small toe when kneeling down. As the tip of the shoe folds at the toes, the shoe crimps, at the toe causing discomfort.

These are legit!

The Sitka Ascent GORE-TEX shoes are an incredible piece of hunting gear. They’re lightweight and comfortable like a trail runner, but still provide the stability and support I want when navigating rough, uneven terrain. The GORE-TEX keeps my feet dry when the weather turns bad, and the traction is outstanding on slick rocks, mud, and steep terrain. I really like the locked-down fit and cushioned ride, especially on long scouting trips and early-season hunts. They’re light, nimble, and built to handle whatever the terrain throws at you. Definitely one of the best hunting shoes on the market.
