Very Disappointed

I own many pieces of Sitka gear for whitetail hunting and this is the first piece I've been disappointed with. It does not provide much warmth at all. On a positive note, it is comfortable and fits well.

Perfect Piece of Gear

The Core Merino 330 Hoodie is PERFECT. The first time I wore it was for Colorado Elk 3rd Rifle. All I wore was this with no base layer, temps started a bit under 30 and throughout the day went up to mid 40's probably, some breezy winds, but nothing crazy or sustained. I was completely comfortable with just this on (also was wearing a backpack and Mountain Optics Harness). It was warm enough early to keep me good while hiking, got a bit warm hiking later in the day, but the chest zipper is pretty deep so vented a good amount of heat using that. This is now my go to layer for anything outdoors. I just wore it this morning out shooting. Temps started again just below 30 and rose to 35 by the time I left. I had on a lighter zone merino base layer under it, maybe 200 weight, and was comfortable (temp and fit) the whole time outside, maybe 2 hours. I can't wait for the solid colors to come back in stock in the women's so I can pick one up for my wife. I'm 6' and 185lbs, the large fits great. Athletic cut so it's easy to move in without restriction and snug enough to throw a jacket on over it if needed. I can't say enough good things about it. My only negative is that after a month and a half of use the optifade subalpine pattern on my stomach is starting to fade some because I have a pistol attached to the bottom of the bino harness and it rubs while hiking. I would expect and hope for a little more durability at this price point. . .

Hoodie is great. Would give 5 stars but o ordered the same size as my lightweight hoodies and this one is definitely bigger. Overall very nice and warm base layer for Iowa whitetail bow hunting.

Merino hoodie,

By far the warmest base layer I’ve found, used it in Canada for waterfowl, even with only using it and not adding additional layers will keep you warm.

After purchasing one for myself I. Ordered on for my brother in-law. I see it early to late season. Best piece of sitka I own. Fanatic stratus and rain gear. I wear it with all. Highly recommend this piece.

Top tier

I combine this with a vest and it's an insanely good combo and if I want to add the final layer with the jacket. I don't feel a bulk feeling or any restriction of movement. Love this gear!

This is a must have if you seek warmth in light weight and no bulk hunting gear. Hunted in this last week in the high 40’s with hoodie and a base layer and was comfortable the entire hunt.

Only woe it on one

Only woe it on one trip as a second layer and loved it. Hudson Jacket over it and was never cold in high 20’s for temps.

330 hoodie

Well I have worn it a few times now. I’m 6’1” 200 lbs the XL fits great. I do wish the hood was the same heavier wait as the bottom but other then that it works for me, as long as I have some kind of windstopper over it .

This is my first Sitka hoodie and it’s amazing. Super comfortable and warm. Loved it so much, I just purchased the Fanatic Hoodie.

Merino 330

Good fit and articulates well for bow hunting. Could be used as an outer layer for early season. I wear this over a tighter fitting base layer with a Stratus jacket for late season hunts. Good to sub freezing temps.

Kangaroo Pouch

Very comfortable hoodie. Has a kangaroo pouch, which I didn't notice while ordering. The merino wool keeps you warm, but also regulates the heat so you don't get hot. I ordered an XL.

Exactly as advertosed

Great base layer. The hood is low profile and has room to fit over a hat. The fave mask takes the bite off the wind. It got wet in the rain and dried quickly. Won't leave home without it.
