Heavyweight hoody…warm, good, runs big

I’m normally a large in sitka tops. I am 5’10” and 190-195. The heavyweight series in general runs big. If you have another layer underneath, you will be ok. I wear a medium solid by itself when i go out. Depends on how you want to wear it i suppose.

This piece is a great

This piece is a great layering tool. you can wear it solo or with a vest and light jacket for early season or I use it on early morning walks with my dog. Great item. I have 3 now.

Awesome hoodie, super comfortable and I like the fabric for layering. When layer the outer layer slides nice and does not bind. Great for all game and just wear it while scouting. This is always in my pack!

One of the best layering

One of the best layering pieces I have ever owned. A must have for mid to late season hunts. Sized perfectly for me. This is my go to for big game and waterfowl.

Cheap fabric that pilled at

Cheap fabric that pilled at underarms, shoulders and back from wearing a backpack on one two day trip. Front chest pocket is too small to hold a standard cell phone. Warm but not durable. Sitka does not warrantee for pilling. Moving my gear to Kuiu even though I have many Sitka items.

The Sitka heavyweight hoodie has

The Sitka heavyweight hoodie has been exceptional for me as an avid angler in very cold late fall weather in Alaska for steelhead. It’s the layer I needed to reduce bulk but keep warmth when wading all day in frigid water and we start day with ice in our guides several times during mid to late October week. Reducing layers helps with the spey and single hand repetitive casting needed all day and with the Sitka hoodie and accompanying special rain / wind / nano puff type special jacket with down allows me at 74 to keep at it all day. Exceptional. Am sure serious hunters appreciate this doubly.

When fully zipped, hood closes

When fully zipped, hood closes to nose. This means that when zipped partway open with the hood open, the top ends of the zipper flap around like bird wings and hit my face. Cuffs and arms stretched out and wouldn't hold back on my forearms when I needed them out of the way on the first use. (This is something I commonly do with many other grid fleece type hoodies) Returned item and ordered more from other known brands.

Great hoody! I used it

Great hoody! I used it during early season spring gobbler when morning temps were in the 40’s with a light Merino tshirt underneath and was very comfortable. Can’t wait to use it during deer season.
