Great fishing pants

Great fishing pants. Durable Sitka quality

Great on the Flats

Walked the flats in Belize in these and they worked great. Outperformed a competitor’s pants by a wide margin. Enough room to move but not so much to create drag. Dried fast once we were back in the boat. Even held up well to coral scrapes.

A tad thicker material than

A tad thicker material than I was anticipating so might be a concern on hotter days(?), however they’re a great wading pant and option for a fisherman like me who never applies sunscreen. They dry real quick too, enjoying them thus far

Awesome pant! From air travel

Awesome pant! From air travel to walking around town to hours on the water, these pants did it all and were super comfortable while doing it! I think my only complaint is that I wish they came in several different colors so I could stock my closet.

Pretty good

I like the material and stretch. However, I think for a wading pant the material is too heavy for hot climates like the southeast. There are better options out there that circulate and dry out faster. They don’t vent as good as they could compared to other wade pants I use for fly fishing. Also, I was glad to see these were tapered for a more modern look but ended up returning them because that is only below the knee. They are still much too baggy behind the thigh like a traditional pant. Definitely too much loose material in the water for me personally.

Super comfortable with all the nice details that make it great on the water. Fit is spot on, not baggy or too tight.

I’m giving the pants a high rating in recognition of Sitka making a great wading pant, but it could have been a star less just as well. The problem, like in the Ascent pant, is no back pocket. Think about that; you put the pants on to go wading 30 miles away; where does your drivers license, credit card etc go? Don’t know. On the flip side there are zippers on every pocket and the legs are tapered to keep stuff out or tuck into a boot. They come with a nice little belt; switch it out for a wider sturdier one. At the price the pant needs to be perfect, a mark Sitka often hits. I’ve worn the Ascent pant wade and boat fishing 60 days a year with great results in miserably hot weather. I sewed on a back pocket and sewed in Velcro strips to cinch the cuffs; something many can’t do. The material itself has held up well under a real pounding, and I expect the same from these pants. Had Sitka left the belt out, added a zipped back pocket, and put a cinch on the cuffs it would have been a 100% product, instead of the mid 90’s, which is still pretty good.

Super breathable and stretchy, and the Kevlar-lined pliers pocket makes unhooking fish and rigging terminal knots a breeze.

great pants. i tried them on and they fit well, as advertised. they seem very durable and well vented. these are not only good for fishing, but hunting on hot days in texas as well. thank you!

wear them all the time

being a fishing guide i needed a pair of pants that were comfortable and would keep me cool but still look good so i bought these pants and they have checked every box and the belt is a nice extra

These pants are my favorite while on the water now. Light weight and cool, everything a guide needs while on the water.

Good pants, one big flaw

These are pretty good fishing pants. I mostly do flats fishing, so that’s when I have worn them. Good for fall-spring. Probably a little thick and heavy for warmer months. Just wore them 4 days in Everglades at high of 80 and was ok. Big flaw is No Rear Pocket! I don’t think I have a single pair of pants without at least one back pocket. I don’t love having keys, wallet, phone in front thigh pocket walking from truck to boat at the ramp. It’s just not natural and feels weird. The pliers pocket is actually pretty decent and fits Hatch and Van Staals well enough. Nice enough for plane/travel/casual dinner after fishing.

Perfect Everyday Pants

Bought for my boyfriend who is an avid fisherman in both Iowa and Alaska and he loves them! They are sleek and comfortable and he wears them probably 4 days a week. Not the best for super cold weather as the fabric is not thick, but they are great everyday pants. He's 5'6" and around 132 lbs and usually wears a 30 30, but the belt makes them fit well.
