Excellent Rain Jacket – Lightweight, Comfortable, and Completely Waterproof

I recently put the SITKA Stormfront Jacket through a full week of fishing in Alaska, and it quickly became one of my favorite pieces of gear. The weather changed constantly—from light drizzle to heavy rain—and this jacket kept me completely dry without ever feeling bulky or restrictive. The 3-layer GORE-TEX construction is incredibly breathable. Even after hiking to remote fishing spots and wearing it for 10+ hours a day, I never felt clammy or overheated. It's light enough to wear all day but tough enough to handle brush, rocks, and everything else Alaska throws at you. The hood is one of the best I've used. It adjusts easily, stays in place during windy conditions, and doesn't block your peripheral vision while casting or landing fish. The magnetic chest pocket and zippered hand pockets are well thought out, making it easy to keep essentials close without getting in the way. What impressed me most was how versatile it is. It packs down small when the weather clears, but when the rain starts, it provides complete confidence that you'll stay dry. Pairing it with the CrossCurrent GTX Waders made for an unbeatable combination on the river. The Stormfront isn't insulated, so you'll want to layer underneath in colder weather, but that's exactly what makes it such a versatile shell. If you're looking for a premium waterproof jacket that performs in real-world conditions, this one is absolutely worth the investment.
