I love this hoodie, I wear it as an outer layer, and a base layer. I wear hunting, camping, working and out to dinner on occassion. Really close to true to size, its not a baggy fit.
Good all around boot but a bit heavy compared to the GoreTex version. If you plan on doing serious walking or handling muddy terrain spend the extra money and get the GoreTex version.
The Jacket is awesome! It keeps me super warm and dry while not feeling bulky compared to puffy competitors. Range of motion is great even when saddle hunting. I get cold easily so if you do as well, drop the cash and stay in the hunt longer!
One huge flaw. The zipper. 75% it works. 25% you spend 2-3 minutes trying to get the zipper past a certain point in the process, which if you pack the jacket in and try and put it on in the woods, it’s not exactly quiet when you’re doing the zipper song on your zipper guitar. Hopefully Sitka reads this and tells me they have a fix for this zipper and send me a new jacket, but time will tell.
My husband loves these pants! I ordered them for a gift, last minute. They weren’t supposed to arrive on time but to my surprise they came early! They are high quality and the material is fantastic! I’d love some for myself if they weren’t all camo. Thank you Sitka!
As a vet I am a huge supporter of FOH. I absolutely love the sweater. It has a nice thickness yet soft and warm for the Michigan weather. It did shrink a little more than expected, but still fits proper. I wish I got the blue as well.
This jacket is a great heavier outer layer for frigid and winter storm conditions. I would wear this over bibs or waders. All the listed features work as advertised. The actual dirt color is a slightly darker khaki (more like Carhartt Brown) than the shade it appears online which I think is better for use in the field. The only thing I would say about the fit is I did try this on with my standard frigid layers - grinder hoodie, kelvin light vest, and duck oven jacket, and it was a bit snug in the shoulders and upper arms/elbows. So if you are cold natured and need a lot of layers, I would consider sizing up. I went with my normal size L and am 180, 5-9” with broader shoulders.
AWESOME Jacket. Super warm. Outer layer is smooth and nothing sticks to it like some fleece jackets, but internally if warm plush fleece. I bought them for my entire office team and they love it.
I bought this to wear over bibs and other layers for cold whitetail sits in December in KS, where it is often in single digits. I was able to wear around town on a few sub-zero days and it was extremely warm. While not technically wind proof, I did not feel any wind though it despite extremely cold windy days. Great hand warmer pockets and interior storage pockets. The shell seems a bit lighter weight so I don’t intend to bust brush or sit against rocks in it. Overall I love the piece. The only minor complaint I have is that the item on the website has a monochromatic logo, which I wanted. The item I received has a bright white logo, which seems to align more with a previous year’s version but I paid the full current price for it. Not sure if that is the case or if the website photos are just incorrect.
Fantastic jacket for high country sheep hunt where winds would come up. It is an excellent outer layer. I appreciate the build quality and the thoughtfulness that went into it's design.
My hubby is obsessed with Sitka so I got him these socks. He loves them! His shoe size is 10. 5-11 so I got him the L/XL and they fit great! Will be buying more
My son and I each have one of these. We both love them. One of the warmest coats I own, and without a lot of bulk. Nice little features like the fleece lined hand pockets, interior storage pockets, etc.
This is a solid mid weight hoodie for all purpose hunting. It works great as either an outer layer on mid temp mornings or under layer on those really cold mornings. I have used mine for waterfowl and elk hunting, as well as, all around town use.
