Awesome coat.

Sitka’s product and service is top notch, I love the stratus coat and bibs. I unfortunately went another way with my early season system. I own the fanatic and love that as well, and that’s what I wear based on the stand hunting I do in my spots between Syracuse and Canada. More and more friends of mine are going out West to hunt (better jobs) and coming back with a much more stealth way of dressing and hunting. So now I have tried to adapt to that style and I ended up only going with the fanatic hoodie. I wanted to try the mountain and timberline pants but unfortunately you guys have these pieces cut for someone much more vertically blessed, I mean come on the knee pads were dragging on the ground, I would have them tailored but that doesn’t help the knee pads situation. I’m 5 10 but long torso short legs, please Sitka do something for the less fortunate, we at all not perfect specimen of mountain men. All in all the coat is fantastic thanks.

Nice weight

The stratus gear is just the right weight for moderate temps without layering underneath. The material is very quiet and comfortable.

Fit and feel are great. Won’t really know how well it performs or holds up until this hunting season. Looking forward to using it.

Since I won't have the opportunity to use it hunting until later this year, I can at least say this jacket fits true to size and the quality and feel is what I expected from Sitka gear. I'm looking forward to trying it out for real in the next few months.

Best Wind Jacket Ever Made For Hunting

I own 2 Stratus jackets as well as 1 pair Stratus bibs. I have 1 jacket in Elevated II for fall and one in Subalpine for spring turkey. Spring turkey season can be cold and windy in the northeast and same for fall. This jacket is the best shell there is for wind. It allows you to layer up accordingly but is light enough that it doesn’t overheat you. It’s got some built-in warmth but the magic is the absolute wind block it provides. This shell over an Ambient mid layer and the base layer of your choice is perfection for chilly, windy days. Or on its own over a base layer if it’s just breezy and cool. The appropriate base layer, Ambient, and Stratus jacket will allow you to hunt bulk-free easily down into the 30’s. Colder than that and you’ll have to switch to a Fanatic or equivalent. I can draw a bow or shoulder a gun with no problem at all. The warmer, yet bulkier Fanatic is great as well but comes at the cost of mobility. Unlike the Stratus, it will affect your draw and to an extent bringing up a gun as well. I can’t recommend the Stratus enough. It breathes pretty good, it’s light, provides superior wind protection, has a good fit, layers perfect with an Ambient, and is with me on every hunting trip. From turkey hunts to mulies and whitetail, mountain lion to elk and predators, this jacket comes with me everywhere.

Haven’t used product yet

I bought my apparel after season to catch the financial discounts. But the jacket fit perfect. The stratus bibs also fit perfect. I guess we’ll see how well Sitka gear works this up coming season.

Versatile

Held off on purchase until Sitka offered in subalpine. Wear with mountain and traverse pants in addition to matching Stratus bib. XL provides plenty of room to layer underneath.

This Jacket is the way to go as an archery hunter. It cuts the wind and when layers are added, it can handle the coldest temps.

Trip got cancelled last year

Trip got cancelled last year so didn’t get to deer hunt in this yet but seems to be exactly as advertised. 5’6” 165lbs Large with room to layer. Medium was too tight in the shoulders even without layering

I haven’t worn this in the field as of yet. I look forward to using it come late fall here in Iowa. I bought this with the stratus pant to wear as a thinner option the the fanatic set.

Great windproof jacket!

This jacket is lightweight and is very good at blocking wind. If they lined this jacket with merino wool it would be perfect!

Stratus Jacket is an excellent piece for mid season whitetail. Does enough to keep chill off, blocks wind and isn’t bulky. I use this until late November before temps really drop. Go to jacket for archery during the deer rut.

The Stratus jacket is the perfect layering jacket in my big game clothing. Any layer from thin hoody to down jacket fit underneath, depending on temperature and activity. The windstopper works, and might be all the outer shell you need, except in the pouring rain when you need a truly waterproof shell. The hood doesn’t block my peripheral vision.
